User Management & Administrative Permissions

The User System enables multi-user collaboration across the application, allowing team members to build, monitor, and audit budget data together.

Core Functionality & Features

• Automatic Author Attribution: When a user creates a module or expense item, the software automatically tags the entry with the active session's username.

• Granular Author Visibility: Usernames can be globally shown or hidden on the master plan list. Disabling username display is ideal for clean, executive-facing PDF exports, while enabling it simplifies internal accountability.

• Shared Administrative Access: All registered users operate with full administrative privileges. Any user can access dashboard features, manage settings, and create, edit, or remove other user accounts.

Authentication, Security & Password Recovery

• Dashboard Security: All software management features are strictly restricted to authenticated administrators and remain completely hidden from public/front-end views.

• Password Hashing: Passwords are stored in the database using MD5 encryption.

Important Password Recovery Note:

Because MD5 hashes cannot be decrypted, forgotten passwords cannot be recovered. To restore access, another administrator must reset the password from the dashboard, or a database administrator must update the user record directly in the database.

Security Note:

MD5 is considered a legacy hashing algorithm. If your environment requires strict security compliance, consider upgrading your authentication layer to a modern hashing algorithm such as bcrypt or argon2.
